Programs & Initiatives

At Digital Bridges

In the Community:

The core of Digital Bridges’ mission is to facilitate collaboration that empowers community members to improve the Milledgeville-Baldwin County community. Digital Bridges’ involvement in community initiatives ebbs and flows with the community, so Digital Bridges’ involvement in any single program may be short-lived or long lasting.

Shop Local Milledgeville:

Strong local economies are built upon a diverse small business community. That’s why Digital Bridges began working on ways to support Baldwin County businesses.

Digital Bridges Program Developer Tommy Cook envisioned Shop Local Milledgeville as a means of making the local business community more accessible to area consumers. Through its website, shoplocalmilledgeville.com, every Milledgeville business can have a web presence for promoting their products and services and advertising specials and sales. Shop Local Milledgeville benefits Milledgeville consumers by giving them a single conduit for exploring the local business community.

Candidate Forums:

Following in the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s footsteps by working to encourage the innovative use of technology to build informed and engaged communities, Digital Bridges built a partnership with Georgia College & State University’s American Democracy Project, The Union-Recorder and Pi Sigma Alpha—the national political science honor society—Rho Mu Chapter to present candidate forums to engage the Milledgeville-Baldwin County community in the 2010 elections cycle.
